General FAQs

1. Do you offer both photography and videography packages?

Yes, and at the same time!

2. Can we book photo or video separately, or do you only do both together?

I do both seperately or together.

3. How far in advance should we book you?

You can book be for whenever I'm available, first come first serve! See my availability calendar on my "Hire me" page.

4. Do you travel for weddings? If so, what are the travel fees?

Yes I do travel! Travel fee only starts if you're 50 miles away from Woods Cross. The only thing to keep in mind is that I won't drive between 12:00am and 6:30am.
Prices are as follows: Less than 50 miles: Free. More than 50 miles: $100. More than 75 miles: $250. More than 150 miles: $500. More than 300 miles: Cost to be agreed upon, + airfare and lodging to be covered by the Client.

5. How do we officially book you for our date?

Use the form below or email me at zacharyeggett@gmail.com, and after talking to you for a minute I'll send over the contract, you can make your initial 25% deposit, and then you're booked!

6. How does the initial 25% deposit work?

The initial 25% deposit is an initial payment of 25% of the total cost of whatever services you hire from me, and that is a retainer fee, which makes sure that your wedding date is reserved for you and you alone. As I am agreeing to save that date for you, it could cost me money if you cancelled, because I likely wouldn't be able to find someone else to fill your spot, especially if its close to the date. That's why the 25% deposit is non refundable.

7. Do you work with second shooters or assistants?

All packages include just me (including the combined photo & video package), but I am more than happy to work with a second shooter! Having 2 professionals helps get more angles, more coverage, and can elevate your photos/ video. Just let me know that's what you want, and (for an additional fee) we will hire another professional to help with your day.

8. Can we meet or video chat before booking?

Of course! Message me, and I can send you a link for a video call, or we can do a normal call as well.

9. Do you shoot LDS temple weddings / elopements / destination weddings?

Yes, yes, and yes!

10. What happens if you’re sick or can’t make it to the wedding?

If I am sick/ otherwise incapacitated, I will try everything I can to get another professional to take over for me. In the extremely unlikely event that I cannot find anyone, and have no possible way of attending, you will get a full refund (including the retainer fee) and my most sincere apologies. This is very unlikely though, that's just the absolute worst case scenario.

Photography FAQs

1. How many photos will we receive?

This depends a lot on how long you hire my services for, and it also depends on what activities are going on during the day, and if there is a second shooter. Hiring my for hybrid photo and video may also effect this. On average, clients receive around 200-300 photos. I often take well over 1000 photos, but many of them are fired in bursts, and a handful are unusual. After selecting all photos that I think you will enjoy, it ends up around that 200-300 mark. If you only hire me for 3 hours, and there are no interesting activities on the day besides the ceremony, it could be as low as 100 photos.

2. Do you edit all of the photos?

Yes! All of the photos I send you (after I get rid of the ones I don't want to use) will be edited! I also often select a handful of gems from the day to really edit so you can get the most out of the best moments from the day.

3. Can we get the unedited/raw photos?

I don’t usually deliver RAW or unedited photos because they’re only part of the creative process. The editing is where I bring everything to life: balancing colors, lighting, and style to create the consistent look you see in my portfolio. RAW files are a bit like the ingredients before the recipe- they’re not the final dish! Every image you receive is carefully chosen and edited to reflect your day beautifully and intentionally.

4. Do you help with posing during the shoot?

Yes of course! I love candid photos, but I also love to make sure you have fun posed photos that you can print out and hang up on your wall.

5. How long does it take to receive our photos?

On average, less than 2 weeks!! You might be thinking "That can't be right", but it is! Even though others often take 6-10 weeks, or sometimes longer, I usually get done in less than 2 weeks, and guaranteed less than 4. I don't cut any corners either, I just obsessively focus on getting your photos done during the weeks following your wedding. In fact, editing is one of my favorite parts, so I put a lot of thought and care into making your photos the best they can be.

6. Will we get both color and black & white versions?

Normally I just provide color, with maybe a few black and white photos, but if you also want black and white copies of all your photos, just let me know and I will convert them for you free of charge.

7. Can you help us choose a location for our engagement or bridal shoot?

Yes, of course! I know a lot of places around Woods Cross and Bountiful, and am happy to search for more places wherever you may be.

8. Do you offer albums or prints?

At the moment, no, just because I haven't gotten around to it. If you request it though, I will make it happen (for an additional cost of course). You are also welcome to use any third party store to print the images you get from me.

8. Can I share my photos online?

Yes please! Feel free to tag me as well if you want, I'd love to be friends with you on social media! Just please don't edit my photos, as they are my portfolio in a way. People will judge my work by what they see on your page, and I want it to be reflected just as it is.

Videography FAQs

1. What’s included in your wedding film packages?

The normal wedding film is a 3-7 minute professionally edited highlight reel of the day. I offer drone footage (where permitted), and professional audio recording as well. I use 2 professional cameras to make sure something is always being captured during special moments, and if you want to see examples, check them out on other parts of this website! Also note that I can provide different types/ lengths of films per your request.

2. How long are your finished videos?

Typically 3-7 minutes long (usually 4-5). If you want something different though, let me know and we can make it work!

3. Can we request specific songs or moments to include?

You can definitely request moments to include! Songs get tricky though, because copyright will prohibit me from using most popular songs, unless it's lisencable and you are willing to pay the fee to use the lisence.

4. Do you use professional audio for vows and speeches?

Yes I do. My favorite though, is to get you two alone for a private interview where I can ask you interview questions, and maybe to repeat your vows after the ceremony (it's nice to have a break in the day to get away and hear the vows again, and it makes incredible audio for the video!).

5. Can you record our ceremony and reception in full?

I can! This might not be as exciting as the full edit, but if you would also like a copy of the full ceremony, I can provide that for a small additional fee. Just let me know beforehand that that's what you want!

6. Do you film in 4K?

Yes!

7. Do you provide drone footage?

Yes! Where permitted anyways, there are certain areas (mainly close to airports) where drones aren't allowed, which is something to consider.

8. How long does it take to receive the final video?

Would you believe me if I said only 4 weeks or less? Even though most people take 8-12 weeks or more, I personally love to start working on your video right after your wedding, and then I just work nonstop, which means you will almost always get it back in less than 4 weeks, but at the most 6 weeks.

9. Can I get the raw video?

I don’t deliver RAW video files, as they are incomplete by nature and not representative of my finished work. Each of my films is professionally edited to achieve the color, sound, and storytelling quality that define my brand. Besides that, the videos are usually across way too many clips, and they are in a file type computers can't even show naturally, and without my coloring, they are all very grey.
That said, I offer raw documentary-style edits of the ceremony, toasts, or dances upon request — fully cleaned up and synced, so you can enjoy the moments as they happened without the confusion of unedited footage. Just let me know that you want it beforehand, and I'll accommodate that for an additional fee.

Creative/ Style FAQs

1. How would you describe your photo and video style?

Unless I tell you otherwise, I can copy most any photo or video style! As someone who likes to edit, it's just a matter of learning what settings are used in that style. Typically, however, my default style is like an enhanced true-to-life style. I make colors pop, add contrast, and make it feel like you are remembering the moment, but with all the good feelings you really felt on that day.

2. Can we give you a shot list or inspiration board?

Of course! If you have a clear vision of what you want, this is one of the best ways to convey what you want.

3. Do you capture candid moments or more posed shots?

I do a mix of both! Normally, however, most weddings don't have the time for a hundred posed shots, so expect more candid than not, unless you want more posed.

4. How do you make couples feel comfortable on camera?

I like to think that I do this through my general personality, humor, and empathy. I really listen to the couple, and make sure to do what they want and that I keep them comfortable.

5. What’s your approach to storytelling in your wedding films?

I love to ask you beforehand "What is your story"? Then I use whatever you tell me to brainstorm how I'm going to get audio and video, and finally I edit with your specific story in mind, so it all culminates in a nice package that really tells your story.

Pricing & Packages FAQs

1. How much do your packages cost?

Prices are currently in the "packages" page on this website.

2. Do you offer custom packages?

Yes, just let me know what you want and we will get it scheduled.

3. Is there a discount if we book both photo and video?

Yes, a huge one in fact. For current prices go to the "packages" page on this website.

4. What’s your payment schedule?

25% of the total payment is due upfront, and the rest is due 4 weeks before the wedding. If you need a different payment schedule, just let me know!

5. Do you charge sales tax?

No, that is included in the package cost.

6. What forms of payment do you accept?

Normally, just Venmo, because it is easiest. However, make sure to not mark the payment as a "good or service", or else Venmo will take 3% of the money. If you really want to, you can use that method, but you will have to pay an extra 3% to cover what Venmo will take.

Delivery & Logistics FAQs

1. How do we receive our photos and videos?

I will send you a dropbox link where you can download everything from.

Yes! Feel free to tag me as well ;). I only ask that you don't add any filters or anything like that, so my work is reflected to others exactly how it is.

Yes, but only for a few months. If you want long term backup, I am more than happy to do so at a small additional cost.

4. Will our video be available for download or streaming?

Personal & Experience FAQs

1. What’s your favorite part of a wedding day to capture?

Hmmm... I think the raw emotion of the ceremony makes it my favorite part, but I also really enjoy learning my couples stories in the interview I usually do for videos.

2. What sets your work apart from other wedding photographers/ videographers?

A few things. 1: I am obsessed! This is all I do, every day. I'm always learning and studying and planning to make my photos and videos better. 2: I am story focused, especially for video. It's one thing to have a "video slideshow" of your wedding day, it's another to have a mini-movie, which is what I'm always trying to provide. 3. I really, really care about the couple and making sure their day goes great. From having mosquito spray to bringing candy, I'm always trying to make their special day even better.

3. Do you have experience with LDS or religious weddings?

Yes, almost half my weddings so far are LDS, and I, myself, am LDS and have had a temple wedding as well!

4. Do you help with timeline planning or lighting advice?

A little bit, as I'm more than happy to help wherever I can, but I don't really replace your wedding planner.

5. What’s your philosophy when capturing weddings?

I'm there to professionally capture emotional moments, and convey it all in a story. At the same time, it's all about the bride and groom, so I do whatever I can to make them as comfortable as possible.
